Another weekend and another Stakes winner for Mount Nelson

Another weekend and another Stakes winner for Mount Nelson, with Mountain Bell winning the Listed Betway Stand Cup at Chester today.

This three-year-old filly came home the best in the home straight to win nicely for owner Qatar Racing and trainer Ralph Beckett.

Jockey John Egan said: "The race unfolded well for Mountain Bell as I got her into a good rhythm and came late. I knew I was going to get there."

Mountain Bell was following up being placed in the Lingfield Oaks in May, and is entered in the Group 1 Fillies and Mares Stakes at Ascot.

Bred by Theakston Stud, she is out of Shenir (Mark Of Esteem), and was purchased as a yearling by David Redvers from the BBAG Sale for €46,000.

Last weekend, Mount Nelson's daughter Weltmacht won the Listed Wackenhut Mercedes Benz Steherpreis in Germany, and the weekend before that Berkshire and Majeed finishing first and second in the Listed Sri Lanka August Stakes at Windsor.
